Common questions

Where is my data stored?
Entirely on your own device. Spendly has no account, no server and no cloud sync. See the privacy policy.

Does Spendly connect to my bank?
No. Spendly never asks for bank details, card numbers or logins. You enter what you spend yourself.

I am not paid monthly. Does it still work?
Yes. In Settings, open Pay schedule and choose weekly, every two weeks, twice a month or monthly. Your cycle runs from your payday to the day before the next one. Fixed monthly bills are spread across your pay cycles automatically.

Why does it say "includes an estimate for days you have not logged"?
A day with nothing recorded is unknown, not zero. Rather than quietly assume you spent nothing, Spendly estimates it at your usual pace and tells you so. If you really spent nothing that day, open the log screen, leave the amount at zero and tap "Nothing spent" — the estimate disappears.

Why does it wait before showing a projection?
Spendly needs three logged days before it trusts your spending pace. Until then it shows what is available now instead of a projection.

How do I change currency?
Settings, then Currency. Every ISO currency is supported. If the new currency uses a different number of decimals, your existing amounts are converted so the figures you see stay the same.

How do I get my data out?
Settings, then Export CSV. The file is created on your device and you choose where it goes.

How do I delete everything?
Settings, then Erase all data. Uninstalling the app also removes its database completely.

The daily reminder is not arriving.
Check that notifications are allowed for Spendly in your phone's system settings. If they are off, Spendly shows a warning in Settings with a button that takes you straight there. On Android you can also turn on "Precise timing" so the reminder arrives at the exact minute.
