Spendly – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
Spendly is a personal cashflow tracker for iPhone and Android, published by Arkar Min Thant. This policy explains what Spendly does with your information. It is short because Spendly collects nothing.
Spendly does not collect any data
Spendly has no account, no sign-up and no server. Everything you enter — your pay, your fixed bills, what you spend each day, your categories and settings — is stored in a database on your own device and nowhere else.
We do not collect, transmit, sell, share or have any access to your information. We cannot see your data, and neither can anyone else.
On Android, Spendly does not request the INTERNET permission at all, so the app is technically incapable of sending your information anywhere.
No advertising and no analytics
Spendly contains no advertising, no third-party advertising networks, no analytics or measurement SDKs, no crash-reporting services, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about how you use the app is recorded or reported to us.
What stays on your device
- Your pay amount, pay schedule and safety buffer
- Your fixed monthly commitments
- Every expense and income entry you log, including notes and dates
- Days you mark as "nothing spent"
- Your categories, invest/save split and recorded allocations
- Your app settings, such as currency, theme and reminder time
All of it lives in local storage on your phone, protected by your device's own security. None of it is backed up to us, because there is no "us" to back it up to.
Permissions Spendly asks for
Spendly requests only what the optional daily reminder needs:
- Notifications — to show the evening reminder to log your spending. Reminders are created and scheduled entirely on your device. You can turn them off at any time in Settings.
- Exact alarms / scheduling (Android) — optional, and off by default. It only makes the reminder arrive at the exact minute you chose rather than within a short window.
- Run at startup (Android) — so a reminder you have already scheduled survives a phone restart.
- Vibration — for the reminder alert and touch feedback.
Spendly does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, location, bank accounts or any financial institution.
Exporting your own data
Spendly can export your entries to a CSV file. When you choose to export, your device's standard share sheet opens and you decide where the file goes — for example your own files app, a note, or an email you write yourself. The export happens on your device and the file is not sent to us or to anyone else unless you send it.
Deleting your data
- Erase all data in Settings permanently deletes everything Spendly holds and returns the app to a fresh state.
- Uninstalling Spendly removes the app's database from your device entirely.
Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no deletion request you need to send us.
Children
Spendly is a general-purpose budgeting tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date. If Spendly ever begins collecting data — which is not planned — this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the app will ask for your consent.
