Eye Rest – Support

Eye Rest is a 20-20-20 eye-break reminder for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch. Every 20 minutes it taps you on the shoulder to look 20 feet away for 20 seconds — then gets out of your way.

Reminders aren't arriving

This is almost always the operating system holding them back rather than the app. Open Eye Rest and look at the home screen — if anything is wrong it will tell you there, in an amber row, with a button that takes you straight to the setting that fixes it.

  • "Notifications are off" — reminders are delivered as notifications, so the app cannot reach you without that permission. Tap the row to turn it back on.
  • "Reminders may arrive late" (Android) — Android batches alarms to save battery unless an app is allowed to schedule exact ones. Tap the row, then enable Alarms & reminders.
  • "Reminders may be silenced" (Android) — battery optimisation can stop the app being woken at all. Tap the row and allow Eye Rest to run in the background. Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus and Oppo devices are the strictest about this.

Changing the rhythm

Settings → Remind every sets the gap between reminders (20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes), and Break length sets how long a break runs. Changing either re-anchors the countdown from now, so you never have to wait out an old interval.

Choosing how it feels

Settings → How it feels has twelve vibration patterns, grouped from Gentle to Strong. Tap any pattern to feel it immediately — it saves as soon as you do. Strength scales all of them, and Sound switches between vibration only, vibration with sound, and silent.

Working hours and quiet hours

Settings → My hours lets you limit reminders to the days and times you actually work, and silence them inside a quiet window. Outside those hours the dial rests and tells you when reminders resume.

Your data

Eye Rest stores everything on your device and sends nothing anywhere. Settings → Export my data writes a single JSON file you can keep or move to a new phone; Import restores it; Delete all data erases your settings and history for good. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Apple Watch

The watch app mirrors your iPhone's schedule so it can remind you when your phone is out of reach, and a break you finish on your wrist counts on your phone. If the watch looks out of step, open Eye Rest on the iPhone once with the watch nearby — that re-syncs the schedule.
