Eye Rest – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Eye Rest is a 20-20-20 eye-break reminder for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch, published by Arkar Min Thant. This policy explains what Eye Rest does with your information. It is short because Eye Rest collects nothing.

Eye Rest does not collect any data

Eye Rest has no account, no sign-up and no server. Your settings, your break history and your reminder schedule are stored in the app's private storage on your own device and nowhere else. We do not collect, transmit, sell, share or have any access to your information. We cannot see your data, and neither can anyone else.

The app makes no network requests of its own. There is no server for your information to go to.

No advertising and no analytics

Eye Rest contains no advertising, no third-party advertising networks, no analytics or measurement SDKs, no crash-reporting services, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about how you use the app is recorded anywhere but on your device. Eye Rest is free, and it is not funded by your data.

What the app stores on your device

  • Your settings — reminder interval, break length, vibration pattern, notification channel, working hours and quiet hours.
  • Your break history — a local journal of reminders delivered and breaks taken, skipped or snoozed, used to draw the statistics screen.
  • Reminder scheduling state — so your reminders survive a restart.

If you use an Apple Watch, your current schedule is sent from your iPhone to your watch over Apple's device-to-device connection, so the watch can remind you when your phone is out of reach. That transfer happens between your two devices; it does not pass through us.

Your control over that data

  • Export — Settings → Export my data writes a single JSON file and hands it to your device's share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice.
  • Import — you can restore a previously exported file.
  • Delete — Settings → Delete all data permanently removes your settings and break history from the device. There are no copies anywhere else for us to delete.
  • Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.

Permissions the app asks for

  • Notifications — reminders are delivered as local notifications. This is the app's entire purpose. If you decline, the app cannot remind you, and it will tell you so plainly rather than pretend to be running.
  • Exact alarms (Android) — so reminders arrive on time rather than whenever the system batches them. If you decline, reminders may be delayed.
  • Vibration — the reminder is a vibration by design, so it stays private in shared spaces.
  • Run at startup (Android) — restores your schedule after a reboot so reminders don't silently stop.

Eye Rest does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location, calendar or health data.

The few things that involve Apple or Google

Eye Rest itself contacts no servers. Three ordinary platform features involve the app stores, and we describe them so this policy is complete.

  1. Downloading the app. Apple and Google distribute it. The developer receives download reports that contain no information identifying you. Their handling of your device and account is governed by their own privacy policies.
  2. The rating prompt. After you have taken twenty-five breaks, the app asks the operating system once — and only ever once — to show its standard rating sheet. That sheet belongs to Apple or Google; if you choose to leave a review it goes to them, not to us. The app is never told what you did.
  3. Crash and usage reports you may already have enabled. If you have turned on Share iPhone Analytics with App Developers on iOS, or the equivalent on Android, the operating system may send the developer aggregated crash and performance data about the app. That setting is yours, it lives in your device's system settings, and Eye Rest neither requests it nor can switch it on.

Children

Eye Rest is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy will be updated here and the date at the top will change. Any change that would involve collecting data — which is not planned — would be announced in the app's release notes before it took effect, rather than buried in this document.
